During the beginning of the college football season, a lot of NFL analysts were predicting Tommie Harris, DT, of Oklahoma could go as high as pick #1 in the 2004 Draft. Ever since the NFL seasons been over, plenty of them keep saying Harris will go to Washington at #5. So whats the deal with all of you people that say, there are no D Linemen worthy of even a top 10 pick. Harris benches 425, runs a 4.6 in the forty, and has amazing acceleration off the line. This guy is a beast.

No argument here That's been my pick all along if we keep it. I like the fact he can play both DT/DE

I don't think we will get a Dlineman in the draft. Now, with my fifth draft opionion in the last two weeks, I think we'll get Shaun Taylor. I think we will get our needs through the draft. It will be an awesome draft. Not like last year.

That not to far fetched JH...I love the TE position I played it in school wore # 80 and 82 after Ozzie and my favorite player KW. As much as I would love to see him here I don't know if you take him that high?? While I'm high on Harris let me say that Taylor is the safest pick in the draft., by that I mean he is the best athlethe and he'll come in and contribute right away be it on D or ST

If we pick up Kellen Winslow somehow, we better have at least 2 first round picks. Picking up KW over Kevin Jones or Sean Taylor or Tommie Harris sound absurd to me. I dont believe in getting a TE that high, unless we have another first rounder.

I also don't see Gibbs taking a 230 pound TE... I just don't see it.

I think maybe we take Taylor or Harris and draft Troupe from Florida in the second round - that is if we don't trade down to save cap money and if the guy they are targeting doesn't fall - don't forget that there are teams that come out of left field with their picks and go to someone that nobody expected.

I see a lot of teams that really need offensive help in the top 10 - that means our defensive needs could easily allow us to draft out of the top 10 and get the guy we want.

I think it won't be a boring draft, especially if Champ gets tagged and traded.

Who is that Troupe guy from Florida? I've heard about him, but I dont know who he is and what kind of player he is? Is he more of a blocker, catcher, speed TE, or what?

Only saw him a couple of time but he's very big athlethic kid...Gibbs never had a great TE just very smart, good blocking, relieable hands kind of guy,.

Ben Troupe - led Florida in number of receptions - even beat out all receivers

39 receptions 638 yds 16.4 ypc 5 TD

6'4" 262 pounds

Sounds like Gibbs' type of TE to me Smile

Wow, 16.4 ypc at TE? DAMNNNNN! Sounds to me like a bargain for a second rounder. But I have one more question, is he fast TE like a WR or a slow, break tackles kind of a guy?

Jake,

I don't mean to pick on you, but we NEED Defensive Linemen. We can't answer our needs if we don't get some help on the D-line. Even if you think that we will get a stud DT through Free Agency, we still need more than just one stud. We are not just one player away from having a great D-line, and we can't afford to buy an entire D-line full of vet's.

All the hot shot RB's and TE's in the world won't help us if we can't get our offense on the field, and that what is going to happen if we don't get some run stoppers!

I'm gonna cause a stir here, I know, but I would recommend against picking Tommie Harris at #5. Historically, people at that position picked very high in the first round simply don't seem to do well when they enter the NFL. We may be able to get good value at the lower rounds and use the #1 pick for either help at safety or, as I've said, at tight end.

Time will tell.

Should be an interesting draft, of not fun!

One thing is for certain, whomever the Redskins pick....they'll be cheered and supported, not boo'd and ridiculed (a la McNabb when the Eagles picked him instead of Ricky Williams).
