Needs to go to get Kellen Winslow Jr. if he is still available when the Skins are on the clock. The guy has speed, excellent hands and more importantly...BLOCK. If he is not available then Kevin Jones at RB would be a terrific alternate if he is even available.
Either way you look at it, TE needs to be resolved just as if not more important than RB |

| Ben Watson would be a good pick in the draft at the 2nd or 3rd round. |

| I'm with you Jake on Ben Watson in the 2nd/3rd round. Sean Taylor in the 1st, unless we get a trade offer we can't refuse. |

Taylor is solid, but he wouldn't make the sudden and immediate impact K2 would make...
Kellen Winslow alone could take this team from 5-11 to 9-7 |

Can't agree with that at all.
Gibbs will have the impact to improve this team, he never had a high round TE before and doesn't need one now. |

What? That doesn't even make sense...
Using that logic what's the point of going out and drafting anyone in 2004?
"Gibbs never needed Sean Taylor before, so he doesn't need him now"
Kellen Winslow is the most impressive offensive force in the entire draft IMO. He will have a HUGE impact on our passing game next season. Taylor is great but he won't have the impact on defense, that Winslow will have on offense... A saftey is still gonna need a defensive line to be effective |

don't be so banal.
I never mentioned a name I mentioned a position.
For years the only 1st rounder we had was darrell green, no matter what offensive forces there were. God knows there were some great ones.
I've been saying in several posts that D-Line is most important. Add to that what would be the best secondary and suddenly we go from being one of the worst D's to one of the best.
Our O wasn't too bad last year and with Gibbs using proper protection and blocking schemes, that'll be improved whatever the personnel. |

I think Ohalete and Bowen did fine last season...
TE is the weakest spot on our roster, and a possible hall of fame TE is gonna be delivered right to us.
If the d-line is fixed up in free agency you'd be surprised the added production you'd see out of the secondary. It's hard to stop the pass when you give the QB 6 seconds to throw the ball |

what have you been smoking? can i get a hit? a rookie, worth 4 wins by himself? the kids a great player, but you expect him by himself to take this team into the playoffs? theres no "i" in team, but maybe there is a "winslow", let me check.......... |

I agree that Ohalete did ok. I wasn't too taken with brown.
If we can get Darius, for reasonable money and still improve the D-Line a-plenty, I wouldn't be against taking Winslow as I do believe he would be a better fit than any other offensive player in ther draft.
My priorities are on defense first after last seasons abysmal showing. If thats addressed in FA, then yes, take Winslow. |

Alright, Winslow AND Joe Gibbs...
What I meant was that Winslow (and the right blocking schemes) would open the run game (Canidate and Betts aren't THAT bad... there were games with the Rams that Canidate did better that Marshall Faulk!) AND open the passing game up with another legit recieving threat downfield. Winslow would have a gigantic effect on the offense...
Taylor would have a moderate effect on the defense and his progress might even be stifled by lack of a defensive line.
The pieces are already in place for Winslow to succede, but a lot more is open on defense. Also, TE is a much bigger hole than S IMO |

| I'm not sure that Taylor would have just a "moderate" effect on the defense. Just look what Roy Williams did with the team-that-must-not-be-named (that's a little harry Potter right there!), and people are saying that Taylor is a better prospect than Ed Reed or Williams. And like Jake pointed out, a quality tight end should be available with our second or third round pick, if we don't waste one on Brunell. Oh by the way, how did you get your avatar redskins logo without 100 posts? I may be interested in a similar set-up! |

| Pick Udeze from USC. The guy will make at least as big of an impact as any other available guy, plus he fills the Skins biggest need. I agree with ferryrich that TE is not a position that was featured much in Gibbs offense and we can pick up a good blocking TE later in the draft. |
