This is a surprise to me. I certainly thought he would be 1 of the last cut if he didn't make the team. I think this means that White or Nemo will make the roster. |

Fear not...

We can't have two punters, can we? COuldn't Jesse be reassigned once the punting tryout is over? |

Johnson hasn't punted in a regular season game since '03. He averaged less than 40 yds per punt.
Fox has played 4 years. His most productive were '02 & '03 & they weren't that impressive 37 tackles, 10 assists, 1 int & 5 passes defended.
In the last 2 yrs 14 tackles, 4 assists.
They don't exactly look like saviors. |

| I would think they may bring him back once a decision is made after Thursday. But he can go on the practice spot after Sept. 3rd. |

I am sad and confused. The release of Lumsden does not make sense.
I can see another punter for competition but there was other fat to trim before going to Lumsden. I am not going to say that now I am seriously worried due to just a pair of cuts but I will say this:
I do not know anymore what on earth is going on in Redskin Park. Sadly, perhaps I thought I did but I truly did not.
Frosty: I am beginning to take a REAL dislike for you and the mess that you created at this time. |

I'm surprised that Clemmons is still on the roster. He would have been my ist cut, but then I would have cut him yesterday instead of Riley. But what do I know? |

More on Johnson
| Quote: | | The Redskins today added some competition for Derrick Frost at the punter position by signing Eddie Johnson, a 2003 sixth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings. He was the Vikings’ punter during his rookie season but he lost his confidence—and that of Mike Tice’s coaching staff—when he mishandled |

| I certainly wish Jesse the best, wherever he may land, but running back is one position where the Redskins have excess and the punting game needs work. |

| It's good to see them at least address the punter issue. I don't trust Frost at all. I hope this guy is good. |

Well looks like the punter situation is still there this guy must have been terrible to be cut after one practice. |

That's sad. We cut Lumsden for a guy who lasted only one practice.
The guy shouldn't have been signed anyways. |

I do feel bad for Lumsden but I think we all realized after he didnt get in until garbage time vs. the Jets that he wasn't going to make the team.
Best case scenario for him is that he catches on with another team that isn't so deep at RB. He's not good enough to make the deep Redskins RB group, but there could be another NFL team that could use him.
Could be a blessing in disguise for him. |

This begs the question - who made the decision to bring him in? I mean the talent evaluators have to come up with a name and make a case to look at someone (AND cut someone!) - These guys (or whoever) better find someone good or he (they) should be fired for a mistake like that. Johnson has been out of the NFL for a while and he only makes it through 1 practice!!! |

I have no idea but whoever made that decision was not fueled by much intelligence.
The guy couldn't average 40 yards his rookie year and hasn't played for 3 years. Hello!!!! |
