As DEHog says:
| Quote: | | it's only going to take one team to draft some kid and he ends up doing OK...then all he!! gonna break lose b/c team will feel the pressure like the NBA to find the next Kobe, KG and James. It's a sad state of affairs but it's also reality!! |
So, I guess we all need to admit it.....some day we're gonna see some kid come directly out of high school into the pros.
Coming to the realization that it will, in fact, happen. What position to you think the first "high shool to pro" draftee is gonna play? |

IF and notice that was a big if, a highschool player makes it, i think it will be a kicker/punter that dosen't have to be beaten down by the physical part of the game. |

| I think it will be on either line some big kid 6'3 320, as the saying goes it's hard to coach height or in this case BIG |

| I just don't believe it will happen anytime soon. There is too much to learn at the collegiate level that isn't taught at the high school level. There is competition that you can't find at the high school level. Play calling is not even close to the college not to mention the pro level. At least there are some colleges successfully running schemes like the run and shoot and NFL type defenses. Even so - there are so few college players who rate well enough to make it in the pros I don't see a team risking a pick on a high schooler. |

I couldn't agree more. and look at Freddy Adu (14 year-old soccer phenom), already contracted to play with D.C. United. Amazing things can apparently be done with your feet when your are young.
And a kicker/punter has nothing to worry about... except maybe getting smashed to pieces on a botched snap |

A Receiver, because kids are bigger, taller and stronger. They will most likely face smaller corners who dish out less punhisment |

I agree with Redskincity about it being a WR but even though a CB might be smaller they will still hit harder and are just as fast as any HS player. Not to mention the first time a HS player try's to catch a pass over the middle where the bigger Safteys and LB roam.

| The only way I see a RB from high school to the pros is to return kicks. |
