I may have missed it, but did the Skins make any other roster moves when franchising CB yesterday? I seem to recall that we didn't have $6.8M of cap space to give. Does that put us out of compliance, or is there a future deadline for this.

I understand the cap number is expected to rise, but I don't remember anything officially on this as yet.

You don't have to be under the cap until the league year starts, which this year is March 3RD.

After that date... you cannot go over the cap at all or the team will be penalized.

Indeed. In other words, Champ will be traded or the appropriate cuts will be made that will put us under the cap BY MARCH 3RD. So things are in motion now that will be happening shortly.

What is the penalty for exceeding the cap? Is it $$$, similar to the luxary tax in baseball?

Actually - the owners have to smoke 10 cent cigars instead of Cubans and have to drink Mad Dog 20/20 instead of 25 year old Scotch Smile

Plus I think they have to be brought to the game in a little red wagon instead of limo or helicopter Smile
