As the administrator of the site, I really don't know what to do about Sean's passing, and honoring his life. My first inclination was to shut down the site today out of respect, but I think it makes more sense to give people somewhere to vent and grieve.

So at 12pm, I'm going to de-activate the board for 21 minutes in honor of Sean. I hope that all of you will take that opportunity to honor the man, and to reflect on how precious your time really is.

If anyone else has any suggestions of how as a site we can honor the man tactfully and tastefully, please PM me directly.

Absolutely the right thing to do. Let us all at this time join our thoughts and prayers to a player we loved and admired, as well as hoping that his family can find the strength to cope with this terrible tragedy.

I am setting my alarm to remind me to say a special prayer for his family and take a moment of silence at my job.

Hey Boss, let us know if the site plans on sending anything to his family, if you can find the information, I for one would donate something for some flowers or something on behalf of THN, thats what we do for our comrades here in the military, but I also understand if you can't for legal reasons.

Boss,
This gave me chills. I will offer whatever support I can to whatever efforts anyone comes up with. Perhaps flowers to the family is something we could do or maybe something else.
At 12 I will give thanks for not only the stellar athlete that I loved watching but for a man that touched my heart.

Great idea BH.

In addition, what if everyone changed their avatars to #21 for a couple of days? It would be a nice tribute to see as many #21s as possible all across the site. (A lot of people have done this already.)

I will do this if it's not to much trouble for you, BH, to change my avatar back after the mourning period ends.

BH,

Your decision to de-activate the site for #21 minutes at noon is admirable, and instead of telling you how great of an idea it is, I'll simply thank you for doing it.

I think, one suggestion, would be for those #21 minutes, we all quitely think to ourselves of the way this senseless tragedy has affected us, and at 12:22, we all come back and talk about what we thought about during those #21 minutes.

I, for one, will be thinking of....

- how precious our time here on earth is

- how football seems so meaningless right now

- how Sean Taylor dived across the goal line when he picked up the fumble and ran it back for a TD against the Eagles to clinch a playoff spot in 2005

- how everything we cherish can be gone in an instant

- how Gregg Williams must be feeling right now

among others!
