i've been fighting tears all day. i didn't even work this morning because of it, but had some things that had to get done after lunch, so i went. even so, i was sobbing on the job.

as a matter of fact, i drove past a customer of mine earlier, just so i didn't look like a little girl trying to talk to him.

rough day.

I feel your pain. I had tears when Darrent Williams died and I thought about it like every day for 6 months or so. I still have a bracelet with him on it.

This loss saddens me as well.

The world is sick

I have a business to run, and everywhere I look, I am reminded that this is real, and not just a messed up dream.

I have had dealers call me to try to "stock up" on ST autographs.

That just makes me ill.

People are raising the prices, and I have seen several FAKE autographs on Ebay selling for hundreds of dollars.

It makes me sick that people would take advantage of a loss like that.

I think I might pull all of my ST items, and only sell them to Redskins fans. Not people chasing autographs because he is no longer with us.

Ya know what? That is just what I am going to do.

Plus it will keep me from looking at the stuff.

Damn.

There doesn't seem to be any reason for this to happen and yet it did. Sean Taylor had such a great future ahead of him.

You have to wonder if this is linked to the incident that happened two years back with the gun charges against Taylor. I can't help but wonder if the hoods involved had a personal vendetta against Taylor since that time and were waiting for an opportunity to snuff him out.

Very sad day for all Redskins fans. I salute Portis's loyalty and for wearing his number in honor of ST.

Living here in So. California there aren't too many Skins fans, thus, I've been inundated with text messages, calls and emails from buddies of mine that are Puke, Rams, Raiders and Iggles fans.

This story has rocked the NFL, and the loss is huge to us in the Skins faimily.

I've been fighting back tears today, no question about that. I keep telling myself that it doesn't make sense, I never even met the guy. Doesn't work.

same here. i met him once at TC last year, for every bit of 5 seconds.

once, a very wise man told me, "when we cry for the loss of a loved one, we are not crying for them, we are crying for ourselves. so stop being seflish, and be happy they are in a better place."

it was definitley a minister at my grandmothers funeral, i just can't remember which one. there are three in the family, and then there was the one actually doing the funeral, so i don't remember which one it was, but it was one of those guys.

I think to myself that I've never met the guy. Why am I so upset. As a father of 2 and husband, I feel like a little kid who can't understand death. Every time I get on this site, I have to take a ddep breath and not break down at work. Now that I'm home, I can't help it, I no longer have the desire to suppress my sorrow. I fell horrible for the Taylor family including his family who raised him and the family he was just beginning. I feel for the Redskins who got close to him and know him like we, the fans, will never know him. I feel for the fans, such as myself, who are so frustrated and confused on why we're so upset over a man whom we never met. I look at my 1mo old infant son and my 7yo son and think of the things that his daughter will never know. I think that's the worst aspect of it all. The family that will never know the greatness that it was poised to have.

Tragedy doesn't even begin to describe this occurance, but it's all I can say about it....

RIP Sean

Here's something I spotted on another site which I thought might help. It's a tribute from George Carlin for his wife who had passed.....

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but
shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more,
but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and
smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees
but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more
problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little,
drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too
little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our
possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and
hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to
life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but
have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer
space but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air,
but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold
more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less
and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small
character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of
two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one
night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer,
to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the
stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time
when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going
to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to
you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your
side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you because that is the only
treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember,
to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all
mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep
inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday
that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak
and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Written By George Carlin shortly after his wife died.
