I have no idea if they will do it or not but I think that they definitely should put Sean in the Ring of Honor and also retire the #21.

I cant really recall the last that went in there was it riggins when he ran out geared up a few years back? If not that and #28 should be in there. And now sean for sure.

I guess its hard to get your # retired as a skin. Is it something that has to be voted on or can Dan just decide (id think the latter)
Seems like we're always playing someone whos doing restiring numbers before the game or at halftime and it fires them up.
Remeber the whole Wellington Mara bit afew years back......I thought freking Tiki was going to rush for 400

the number will not be retired, maybe not used again but not retired. I think they will hold off on the whole Ring of Fame until probably opening day next year. The family needs to be a part of the ceremony and there is no way they could feel up to it already.

Until they start retiring numbers other than 33, 21 shouldn't be.

Certainly, the situation raises a whole different set of circumstances but I'm not convinced he was THAT good.

I'd rather they put a statue @ the entrance of Redskin park.

He definitely should be on the ring of fame but to retire his number doesn't seem right.

Apparently his name is already in the ring. They are talking about it on Outside the Lines on ESPN this morning. They also said the 'Skins are dedicating this game to Sean, want to play like he did, and are going to take it to the Bills today to win the game for him.

Jurgensen's number is not retired. Cliff Battle's number is not retired. Charlie Taylor's number is not retired. Eddie Labaron's number is not retired.D. Green's number is not retired. Sam Huff's number is not retired. Gene Brito's number is not retired. K Houston's number is not retired. Pat Fischer's number is not retired. Bobby Mitchell's number is not retired. Lenny Haus' number is not retired. Jerry Smith's number is not retired. Larry Brown's number is not retired. John Riggins' number is not retired. Art Monk's number is not retired. Dave Butz's number is not retired. Chris Hanburger's number is not retired. Charles Mann's number is not retired. Mike Bass' number is not retired. Brian Mitchell's number is not retired. Gary Clark's number is not retired. Dexter Manley's number is not retired. Russ Grimm's number is not retired. Joe Jacoby's number is not retired. Diron Talbert's number is not retired. Monte Coleman's number is not retired.

I could continue, but, ya'll probably see the pattern.

The number will not be retired.

Sammy Baugh's #33 IS retired. It's the only one.

Baugh was, arguably, the best all around player to have ever hit the field.
He played QB and Safety, and set the standard for both of those positions. He was, also, the greatest punter in the history of the game, with career records that STILL STAND, after 50 years.

He played all 3 positions, but would have gone into the hall even if he had played only QB, or only Safety, or only punter.

That is a hard set of standards to match.

As much as I loved Sean Taylor as a player, he was not yet an immortal when he died.

His name will be in the ring of fame, because it belongs.

I was half-begging for ST's spirit to swoop down and guide that last FG just a bit off-target.

*sigh*
