Okay, this is how I feel....

1st round: DE Calais Campbell, Miami (FL)

We need to address our defensive line in the first round, just because most of the best linemen go in the first and you can always get good players from skill positions in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

2nd round: WR Early Doucet, LSU

He's pretty good, and is the tall receiver we need. Good 2nd round choice.

3rd round: Safety to compliment Landry (unfortunately)

Also, next year, just as an observation, I checked to see who was projected to go to us in the first round. To my great surprise, it was Darrius Heyward-Bey! how SICK would that be? We could get another tall receiver next year as well, right? I mean he would play so hard for his home team! (he's from silver spring)

I really feel that Doughty has potential and I'd like to address our other weaknesses before SS position. I really feel our immediate need is a starting WR, DL, and rebuilding of the offensive line. We need to start getting youth on the OL since every single one of our starters are over 30.

Early Doucet??????

He is not tall. He is 5-11 . He is fast and speedy, but we already have two small fast receivers.

Doughty was kind of shakey in the beginning but he was playing very well by the end of the season. Wiht an off-season to improve, he looks like a pretty good SS.

My initial thoughts is that it will go down something like this

1st-Traded-WR Chad Johnson, Cinci
2nd-DE Lawrence Jackson, USC
3rd-OLB Shawn Crable, Michigan
4th-S Marcus Griffin, Texas
5th-CB-Jack Williams, Kent
6th-K-Alexis Serna, Oregon State
7th who cares

O-line should be addressed in FA

All this is completely arbitrary and will hold little to no water in a few months.

We need to get younger on the offensive line. That is going to be very difficult to do in FA.

What about undrafted rookie FAs?? (i.e. Stephon Heyer)

I agree, but there is going to be a landslide of OT's gone in the first two rounds. I could see a good guard in there somewhere in the 3-4 range though. There are def some quality OL available in FA this year, some that are kind of young. I will say that WR is a position that CANNOT be addressed in FA this year, that is for sure. If a good FA DE or LB is added than I think there will be a better chance of an OL drafted. We do have Heyer as a developmental OT, even if he isn't great at the moment. Even if DB's are addressed in FA, i would still be shocked if one isnt taken in the first 5, especially if history is any indicator.

I see our biggest needs as:
OG, Fabini is the 3rd best OG on our roster. Nuff said.
DE, Daniels will be 35 by the time camp opens. Evans is an OK backup & Wilson is a situational edge rusher.
WR, Moss is a #1 WR, ARE a #3. We need a #2.

CB is fine if we keep Springs. S is OK with Doughty as SS. He played well at the end of the yr & Prioleau is a good back up. We need more depth here, but we can do that late in the draft or in FA.

I think Cinncy will want more than just 1 draft pick. The Redskins don't have a 4th or 5th round pick this year.
If Lawerence Jackson is there in the 2nd round it would be a steal.

It's rare to find a diamond in the rough. I wouldn't bank on picking up undrafted FA liek Heyer every year.....
