My initial thoughts is that it will go down something like this

1st-Traded-WR Chad Johnson, Cinci
2nd-DE Lawrence Jackson, USC
3rd-OLB Shawn Crable, Michigan
4th-S Marcus Griffin, Texas
5th-CB-Jack Williams, Kent
6th-K-Alexis Serna, Oregon State
7th who cares

O-line should be addressed in FA

All this is completely arbitrary and will hold little to no water in a few months.

I think Cinncy will want more than just 1 draft pick. The Redskins don't have a 4th or 5th round pick this year.
If Lawerence Jackson is there in the 2nd round it would be a steal.

Thanks forgot about the lack of picks. I was thinking 1st rounder this year and another draft pick in the next year for Johnson. There is a good chance Jackson will be available at that point, being he is listed as the 7th or 8th best DE by most analysts. We're missing a fifth as well as a fourth?

The fourth I thought went to Jets for Kendall. Where'd the 5th round go to?

We traded the 5th to the Jets, but it was conditional so I now don't know if we have it or not. I've seen some place's that we have it and other place's we don't. Embarassed

Kendall was 1 pick.. 4th or 5th conditional. I have read on a draft order somewhere (the link escapes me at the moment) that it was the fourth and we still have our fifth.

http://www.redskins.com/news/draftCentralDetail.jsp?id=33961

The Redskins will also have picks in the second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.

The team does not have a fourth-round pick as a result of the trade for T.J. Duckett in 2006.

This doesn't address the Kendall trade, so I might be wrong. The last full draft order I saw, I coulda swore that we were done with Duckett. Can anyone clarify this? Now I'm confused myself Laughing

You know, it's right about this time of year that I wish I actually paid attention to college football. I have no idea who any of these guys are.

Quite frankly there are alot of needs on this team.

We need some depth at the Offensive line. We need some pass rushing defensive lineman. Another saftey, another cornerback. Not to mention a big target at wide receiver. A blitzing sack producing outside linebacker wouldnt hurt either.

If our offensive line can stay healthy I wouldnt worry at all about them. Also Portis is starting to get banged up so I wouldnt mind a young prodigy in the wings. Jason Campbell, well the skys the limit for this kid only time will tell.

So alot is yet to be seen. This draft is absolutely critical. The future will depend on this draft and the next few. If the draft goes well then we will see the future replacements.

We are fine at CB even without Rogers early in the yr. We need quality depth at G/C, help at LDE (Daniels is 35) & a #2 WR to take some pressure off Moss.

My prediction is:
1st rnd DE
2nd rnd WR
3rd rnd OG

The order is at least in part a reflextion of the caliber of player likely to be available for those positions in each rnd. Later, we may pick an OLB to groom behind Washington & a S for depth.

What makes you think so? Rogers suffered a serious injury so there is no way to know how effective he is going to be once he comes back. That's a tough injury to comeback from. Springs is getting up there in age and isn't exactly the most durable player on the team, and Smoot has only played a full season once and that was back in 2002. Cb might not be as pressing of a need as dline and wr, but we could sure use another quality corner.

Don't forget about Torrence and Eubanks. I'm sure they learned a lot this season and with a good off-season, these guys COULD be playmakers. We DO, however, need an established nickel back until they prove themselves.

Everybody knows we have several needs, but at 21. I think we should pick the best player out there. This years draft is not very deep in talent. I think the order should depend on who is still available. I really would like to draft in the late rounds the Safety from LSU...Craig Steltz, he is really physical......
