It also sounds like he's a threat to break in half every time he has an encounter with Laron Landry in practice! 6'6'' and 200 pounds???????? What's that, a 24 inch waist????? |
OOPs typo. Should be 6'6 220#. He has tremendous upside. Worth a look in round 5-6. |

i've talked about adarius bowman in a few other threads...this guy is a playmaker and i know he's taller than 6'2". he's had one off the field issue with marijuana which will make him fall to the 2nd or 3rd round. which means he will be a steal for whoever gets him. that way, we can get a D-lineman in the first round

I certain WR comes to mind that we took in the 1st round a few years back. |
We also drafted Shuler in the first round, so should we not have drafted JC? |

| Every team has 1st round picks they regret, it's part of the game and the gamble of the draft. |

I was thinking of a certain other WR we just missed on a few years back (and lucky for us Detroit beat us to this bust) - Mike Williams. |

| WR more than any other position is going to be jostled by the combine. No one can agree which one will go where because there are a lot of good ones at every size, speed, production level and degree of off field problems. |

| Quote: | Zorn on Needing a Big Receiver
Zorn, as told to Maske at the Combine: "I don't know about a bigger kind of guy. You'd love to have the biggest, fastest guy that you can get that would dominate. But to slot a guy and say, 'We have to have a big guy on that side,' I don't know if I'd put that as a label or a necessity. Everybody wants the biggest, fastest, most dominating receivers that they can possibly get. That's what we'll be looking for and hopefully we'll have an opportunity to get a good guy. I don't want to discount the guys we've already got. Santana, he's solid. Antwaan, he's solid. There's other guys here that will have their opportunity as well."

| I still say Mix should be used in the O he is 6'5" and can add weight. He also played with JC... why waste a pick on a WO when we can get a DE or OL which we need |

I think WR takes longer to develope than a offensive or defensive lineman. I think a first round draft pick will need to come in and help right away. With the exception of Art Monk not to many of the Redskins first round WR's have turned into All-Pro's. |

Because we need a starting receiver and Mix has yet to even play meaningful downs for us, let alone start. What about him makes you think that he can step in and be our #2 receiver, now that ARE is going to be in the slot? |

Mix played with Campbell in '04 & caught 19 passes. Less than impressive. There is nothing to suggest that he is ready to play WR in the NFL let alone start. |

| Quote: | | Howard was the pick we regret. |
The worst thing about Desmnd Howard was that the Redskins traded two 1st rounders to move up (one or two notches?) to pick him.
Could have had Carl Pickens plus a CB...which they needed that year.
However, every team has hits and misses. For Gardner, Westbrook, and Howard, how about Art Monk and Charley Taylor?
The year that the Skins drafted Monk, and the world yawned, I remember that the Jets drafted the immortal Johnny Lam Jones. They might even have traded up to get him.
Or...how would you like to trade your 1st pick for LA's rights to a Heisman Trophy qb, and then discover that the qb could do everything except throw a football? (aka, Gary Beban). That followed the draft of a big fast RB, Ray MacDonald, who didn't care much for running.
The draft is a weird thing. Go through the Redskins roster in SB 17, and count the number of 1st rounder's they had. I count two of their own -- Art Monk (who was hurt) and Mark May. Plus Dave Butz, Joe Theisman, and John Riggins.
Or, as the old joke used to go: name the year that the Colts drafted Johnny Unitas. Etc... |
