| I am curious how the draft order was decided between these two teams. They both had the same records. However, Tampa Bay beat the Redskins head to head last year. Also, they were division champs and the Redskins were just the last wildcard spot. |

 By that logic, New York would be drafting first, and Miami would be drafting last. The tie-breaker for draft selection position is strength of schedule, not head to head record. If the teams have the same strength of schedule, they flip a coin. |

| Since the weaker teams are supposed to draft earlier than the stronger teams, I thought the Redskins would draft just ahead Tampa because they beat the Redskins head to head. I would think that would be the first tie-breaker. Since they both got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, you cannot say the Redskins were stronger because they went further in the playoffs either. It must be broken by strength of schedule with head to head having no bearing. I don't think there was any coin flip because that would have been announced by the NFL. |

The strength of schedule is based upon the record of a team's opponents from the previous season. The team with the weaker strength of schedule receives the higher draft selection. The Bucs had the weaker strength of schedule, and so received the higher draft selection.
