If they cap there contracts rookies will sign probably one to two year deals and if they don't like the team they will leave. How would you all like it if Landry would be a free agent at the end of this season. I think its fine the way it is. Maybe at most three year deals. Basketball u can a build team overnight (Boston Celtics), in football u can't. |
I agree. There shouldn't be salary for anyone ever. I believe in free markets, especially in products or services that aren't vital. |

Easy solution to your concerns. The rookie cap-slotted contracts are all guarenteed (say stick them on 4 year deals or so). Less cost & risk for the owners, guarenteed money for the players.
No, it would be less money for the player than it is now, but honestly, it's ridiculous that someone who hasn't played a down is better paid than anyone at their position.
Jake Long is the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL now. |

What if ur a RB, they only last 6 years, they already played 4 they will be getting paid less than studs at other positions that aren't nearly as valuable. Why? there not gonna pay much for a guy how only has two years left. Football is a buisness you shouldn't limit how much money a person makes. Than players can slack off for three years and than do well in their contract year, its not a great system but its the best. As a high pick ur gonna get all the pressure, ur the teams money maker, yeah u should be getting paid more than everyone else. The team is already making crap loads of money off that name before he even played a down, yes they should get some of that in return. |
