The Redskins yesterday acquired Martin Chase in a trade with the New Orleans Saints, the Saints said they "won't trade" Kenny Smith or Grady Jackson (just like the Bears did w/ Ted Washington and Keith Traylor), and the Broncos reportedly agreed to trade Lional Dalton to another team. Who will the Redskins target now? I think we should try to trade for:
Buffalo's Pat Williams
Philadelphia's Darwin Walker or Paul Grasmanis
Chicago's Keith Traylor
Indianapolis' Brad Scioli
Seattle's John Randle
Detroit's Kelvin Pritchett
Minnesota's Billy Lyon
Denver's Darius Holland
(We should've signed him this offseason when we had the chance)
Dallas' La'Roi Glover
Cincinnati's Oliver Gibson
Miami's Larry Chester or Tim Bowens
San Diego's Leonardo Carson |

While I like most of the players that are on the list, I would immediately vote down the Dallas player on the premise that we don't want to help Dallas with any extra draft picks.
I would say the same for Philly's tackles.
A couple of them are much older, and I wouldn't think we would want to bring an older star in with a limited amount of gas in their tanks (a la 2000).
I like Tim Bowens for his immediate impact that he brings to a game, but would Miami trade him for much less than a 2nd or possibly a first? |

| I think Pat Williams is one of the better Dlineman in that class. He is pretty young and has impressed me the last couple of years. |

I think either Williams or Bowens could come in and do a good job, their stats seeming to be similar. Bowens seems to do more tackling on the other side of the line with more sacks and stuffs, and that is what we need
Also, I wouldn't call either one of them that young, at least football wise, both being 30 years old. I just want to make sure that we aren't repeating the mistakes of a few years ago when we brought in a d line that was all number one picks who got run over and couldn't sack a box of baloney in a supermarket.
By the way, Scioli, while seeming to be a good player stats wise is a DE. |
