Skins 2010 = success
Obviously, having 4 total picks isn't great for fans, it's downright boring, but look at it from another side. Here's the optimist look on our 2010 draft, so far.
We got our future LT to replace Chris Samuels at #4. Although he is older, you have to agree that McNabb is a better option at QB, and with the 3rd rounder, we have one of the best young DLs in the game.

So....here's how our draft has turned out overall.
1st round- Trent Williams
2nd Round- Donovan McNabb
3rd Round- Jeremy Jarmon
So, looking at it like this, I think that we can pick up some quality OL, LBs, or DBs with our 3 late picks. There's always a possibility of a trade as well. I could see Jason Campbell and/or Rocky McIntosh going for a 5th rounder (Buffalo and Oakland still need a QB). So let's all relax and enjoy the weekend. Go Skins!

Matt Terl from the Redskins Blog had an excellent story on Jarmon earlier this week. Jarmon said he'd been projected as a first or second-round pick heading into his senior season at Kentucky, but an over-the-counter weight loss supplement he took cost him his final year. Despite the injury, I don't think the Redskins have a lot of regret over selecting Jarmon. He's hoping to become a versatile player for defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.

I know that he was viewed as a project and he was a combine king, but Bruce Campbell is still out there....is he worth the risk as a 4th rounder??? He was projected to be a top-10 pick a few weeks ago.....crazy!
Other possibilities in 4th round:
Joe McKnight RB USC
Eric Norwood OLB S. Carolina
Perry Riley OLB LSU
Tony Pike QB CINN
Jonathan Dwyer RB GA Tech
LaGarrette Blount RB Oregon
Selvish Capers OT W. VA
There's still A LOT of talent in the draft....I wouldn't mind seeing another OL taken, but Joe McKnight could really add some speed to our RB core.

LaGarrette Blount ought to be in jail IMO.

I like the idea of Norwood. That guy kicked everyone's butt in the SEC. I don't care about track times. I want football players and he's one of them.

Where would Bruce Campbell play? He's not really suited for the right side. What about:
DE Ricky Sapp- Could be a good 3-4 OLB... and boy do we need linebackers.
LB Eric Norwood- He's fallen a bit, but could develop into an ILB.
DT Cam Thomas- Big NT type.
WR Mike Williams- Is a HUGE talent but has dropped a lot due to character concerns. Shanny is supposedly worried about the WR situation... but what better situation for a bad attitude guy than to have a Syracuse alum at QB and Mike Shannahan as the coach?
RB Jonathan Dwyer- Big powerful one cut back... kind of guy Shanny can make into a 1,000 yard rusher.
Mike Williams would be my #1 pick here.

We're doing fine - nobody really expects too much and we're trying to get this train back on track - we were a 4 - 12 franchise and I think we're good for 8-8 this season so we are on the way back - we just need to replace EVERYONE that was on the O line last year and we'll be fine
Apart from some very biased fans, nobody really expects the Redskins to do well
This FO has zero credibility and needs new people to completely rebuild and manage the franchise going forward
Thankfully, Kirk Cousins is no longer the QB
why isn't campbell suited for the right side? he's athletic enough to play either side and is a great fit for a ZBS. he was definately not worthy of a first or second round pick, but to get him in the fourth would be a steal. move artis hicks in at guard.
however, i do like eric norwood and cam thomas as well

I would take Selvish Capers to play RT. Or Joe McKnight to start as a return specialist and become our change up back in the next year or two.
I think Capers could start right away, and I'm surprised he has fallen this far. I also think that Bruce Campbell could work out at Right Tackle given our commitment to the zone blocking system. He might not start right away though.

SPIT HAPPENS!!

I agree this off season has been a success.
Assuming we get 4-5 years from Mcnabb, that gives us at least 2 years before we need to worry about drafting a QB, we can use the next 2-3 years drafts to strengthen our OL and other areas such as WR and RB.
By the time we draft a QB we should be in good shape, allowing them to start in the first year if necessary.
2010 is the start of the rebuilding process.

Well, I wonder if Capers or Campbell wouldn't be too much for Shannahan to pass up on. Kyle Shannahan wants tackles who can MOVE and you can certainly say that about Trent Williams and Bruce Campbell. If Campbell falls for 4 more picks, it will be interesting to see what happens. Obviously we have other needs, but there's no more safeties on the board you would consider here...
