I just wanted to congratulate Jake on getting his Learner's Permit on Friday. He's been carrying a heavy load with School, Driver's Ed, etc. last week and again this week. He went to the MVA Friday and got a 95% on his written test. Only one he missed was something about Alcohol and he says we won't have to worry about that one anyway. Whew ! Anyway...from your mom Jake....Congrats !! You're doing a great job and I'm proud of you. ( I do still hold my breath while you're driving me around though...I suppose that will change as you learn), ::Smiles::

Thanks guys... and mom!
It's pretty fun but you know what they say, safety first!
JF, there's nothing really important enough in Annapolis to visit there anyways!
RC, I think it goes to 120. I'll test it out when she's not in it.
TH, it's definitly exciting! I can't wait 'til I get my full liscence.
TC, no comment! |

Hey Jake!!!! A HUGE Congrats to you! That is awesome for sure! But you still ain't driving my car! NO WAY! LOL!
How long until you are officially licensed? Driving is awesome -- it's all the other idiots on the road you have to be mindful of!

| Hey Jake, when you arrive at the stadium, just pull your car right next to my truck for THEHOGS.NET tailgate. ...just keep you hands off the beer! (Wouldn't want to get an "Endangering" charge while attending a game!) |

I had to take the learner's permit test twice, and the drivers test 4 times...
and I havent even gotten a parking ticket yet! Take THAT Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania DMV!
But yeah, congrats on the permit Jake. Try to gets lots of practice. I signed up for a AAA class because my parents (mostly my Dad) were too scared to drive with me!
I remember how freaked out I was driving on the highway with people going 70 all around me and honking and passing... could they not see the "STUDENT DRIVER" signs all over the FREAKING CAR!?!
But I guess they are just trying to teach you the first lesson of learning how to drive... use the middle finger early and often... it lets people know you mean business! j/k |

My Mom taught me for the most part, but the one lesson from my Dad I remember was when we were coming back from vacation. It was 5 pm on Friday and he pulled over right before the interstate and told me to get in and go on the interstate from there - what he didn't mention was that it was the Birmingham high speed interchange in Friday rush hour....
I learned the meaning of sweat then... |
