with what we've seen recently from the league office, he might be right Shocked

anyone else think the NFL is going to veto this trade because it helps the Redskins too much Laughing

No one thinks the NFL would step in. Several beat writers indicated that they were waiting on confirmation that the deal was still going forward since the Skins agreed to it before they knew that they were getting docked $36 million.

thanks for clarifying

NOTHING the stupid NFL did would surprise me tho Shocked

as far as the salary cap space is concerned - it's a bad hit and the timing sucks .. BUT

Even AFTER the BS 'penalty" the Redskins still have a lot more room UNDER the salary cap than we normally do Very Happy

this FO has it's work cut out to try and maximize the space anyway

Looks like the relationship with Fisher is what got this done after all. Never would have thunk it.

Browns president Mike Holmgren insists his offer to the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick was "every bit the offer that was chosen."
Citing the tight-knit relationship between Rams coach Jeff Fisher and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, Holmgren explained, "Not sure any offer we made was going to be quite good enough. ... rest assured we were aggressively involved in that." Holmgren sounded more committed to Colt McCoy on Thursday, and acknowledged he will "discourage" GM Tom Heckert from trading down from No. 4 overall.
