|
|
Hey Guys - instead of having multiple topics regarding free agents that the Redskins actually sign - let's keep it all in one thread. I will do my best to continue to update this top post with the guys we sign. Something tells me it's going to be a slow day until we figure out how much we actually can spend.
WR - PIERRE GARCON (IND) 5-yr, $42.5M, roughly $21.5M guaranteed
WR - JOSH MORGAN (SF) - 5 - yr, up to $12m $7.5m guaranteed
DE - ADAM CARRIKER (WAS) 4-yr, $20m, 7 guaranteed
WR - Eddie Royal (Den)

| Colston re-upped with the Saints so take him off the list. It's pretty much Jackson or bust as far as improving our wide receivers. |

4 yr / $40M, close to $20M guaranteed. $8M per year.
This is the type of contract Garcon wants.
Good luck with that! |

Hey SF.. quick sidenote.. I didn't know that Robert Jordan was a pseudo-name. That's pretty sad that he passed away, I honestly enjoyed his books.
Ok, carry-on but just saw your sig so I googled it and to my surprise I know of him! |

Yeah, it was sad news. Deemed a Vietnam service related death.
Brandon Sanderson is finishing the Wheel of Time series based on extensive notes that Jordan left him! |

We are going to have to be really smart shoppers. I think we might look to develop some WRs we already have and maybe go after ...
VJax worries me a bit. He'll cost a ton but more important - he has some negatives.
2 DWIs
Pulled over morning of playoff game w/o license and insurance
Money grabber?
Suspended 3 games - next strike is many more games
His YPC is good but his overall production has not been huge at all. He'll also be 32 in RG3's third year.
I say Meacham is our guy. 6'2" 215#, 4.4 40, younger (27), great character.

Good points brutha! Do DWI charges carry over from state to state? I guess the better question is are they nationwide now? For example I know if I get another DWI in MD, I'm a goner because of the 3 strike rule.. does that apply nationwide between states?
I wouldn't look at the YPC so much because don't forget teams would double team him the most (why not Gates???) and that would limit him.. also keep in mind when that did happen, Rivers had like 2 or 3 other tall WRs he'd toss it up to.
Love that kid Meacham, he's a true baller amongst a land of many good WRs down there in Narlins. |

one of the big changes I've noticed with this front office is they don't blab ahead of time. We all knew who the Redskins would sign, draft or cut, well before it happened. I'm guessing Vinny had all the reporters on speed dial and was, more often than not, the unnamed source in WaPo's stories.
The past three years, it's been like trying to info out of the CIA. Here we are less than two hours from the start of free agency, and we have no idea who's coming into Redskins Park today. |

Here's a thought. Roll with Reed Doughty at SS, move Hall to FS, get Carr from KC to play corner, pick up Meacham at WR and Winston at RT.
