I always liked Chris Wilson and was surprised when he was let go. Glad to see him back and hope that he sticks this time.

Remember, Goff is coming off an ACL tear. But it happened before week 1 so I'm sure he will be pretty close to full strength when training camp opens. I like that we are going to have some depth and competition at inside linebacker. Good signing. Doesn't hurt that he is very, very familiar with the Giants playbook either Wink

Morgan Trent drafted in the 6th round in 2009 out of Michigan by the Bengals.

6'1" 193 lbs

Quote:
OVERVIEW
Named honorable mention All-Big Ten as a junior, Trent faced heightened expectations in 2008. A four-year starter with height and straight-line speed, he has long legs that cause him problems changing direction with fluidity, allowing receivers just enough separation to get open. Trent has enough tools to warrant a second-day selection, but scouts wonder if he has the fluidity for man coverage or the toughness and burst to play off-man or zone at the next level.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Positives: Good height for the position. ... Uses his long arms to break up passes in front of the receiver. ... Secure tackler in the open. ... Good cut tackler and can get off receiver blocks. ... Effective reading the quarterback in zone coverage to get involved in the play. ... Has the size and vertical to fight for balls in the air. ... Stays with receivers heading down the sideline, maintaining inside position. Negatives: A bit thin in the hips. ... Lacks change-of-direction ability, struggling to stay with quicker receivers inside. ... Doesn't get his hands on the receiver at the line often enough. ... A bit choppy and upright in his backpedal, which can cause him problems transitioning on out routes. ... Gets turned around by better receivers. ... Not overly effective as a blitzer, as he fails to use his speed and hands to defeat the fullback block. ... Needs to secure interceptions more often. ... Lacks the strength to cause turnovers.

This is not going to be last years Defensive Backfield. Morris is working to ensure that this group can handle the pressure that will result from Haslett's aggressive playcalling... Hall had best be paying attention...

I can't wait.

^^ I agree - this D is going to be better and it was not horrible last season
I know that the 4th & 25 was terrible but ...

the increased competition for roster spots, getting Jenkins back and adding Raheem is going to greatly help this D

Haslett will look to build on what he likes to do and he's an aggressive SOB - we'll see a lot to like from this group this season

That 4th and 25 had nothing to do with the secondary. Hall bit on Bryants first move, but even if he didn't and had perfect coverage all Homo had to do was throw the ball to the opposite side of Bryant. The key to the plays suscess was Homo buying enough time to get the ball away with bryant deep enough for a first down on the correct side of Bryant.

Romo got the time, made the throw, it diidn't matter where Hall was. As long as the pass was to the opposite side that was a first down.

It was a REALLY risky gamble by Haslett and he got boned on the call by Homo.

There was absolutely nothing Hall could have done. That was a swing for the fences call and Haslett whiffed on the pitch.

Hall could have played it better and should have, but it didn't matter, the scramble by Romo was the key to the play. Hall just needed to be close enough to pick aterrible throw (which he was).

I know i'm going to get people to argue this, but I won't respond because there really isn't anything to debate.

who really cares - that was just 1 play - it doesn't matter at all

there's nothing to discuss

the defense will be better because of the additions of players, coaches and past experience Laughing

I'm a Haslett fan Wink
