I'm not. I wasn't a fan of his hiring, because all he has had were substandard defenses under him as a HC and DC. The only exception is his time in PBurge (where "the chin" always had a heavy influence on the D. Haslett's three years in PBurge were the worst three for the Steelers D in Cowher's first ten years. Now it wasn't by a lot, but they were the worst three.

All of his other D's have been horrendous, except for last year's D and that was just so-so.

With the being said, I have been surprised by the improvement in the second year under Has, but I really don't expect them to be anything but a medicocre D this year. They will make a ton of plays, keep us in a bunch of games, but still won't be able to get off of the fiel in the first half of games or when it counts.

I think the O will be better than the D (for a change)!

I understand but I disagree - we'll see a better performance from all aspects of play this season
just as you are not a fan of Haslett, I'm not a fan of Kyle ... but I hope he makes me change my mind this season Very Happy

the transformation is ongoing and will take time but this franchise is seeing the results of having a plan and sticking to it

I think it's simplistic to put all the reasons for success or failure on a DC or STC or an OC - they all have to work under the HC and with the HC

Mike is in charge of all things and we're going to see things continue to improve

they have added a lot of players to the squad and will continue to

I'm looking forward to seeing more progress from all aspects here as we continue to upgrade this roster and the style of play

I know he's not a free agent, but any news on the rumored interest the 'Skins have in Aqib Talib? Hmm

Rich Tandler's take on the rumor of Talib:
Quote:
The rumor mill is starting to churn with talk of the Redskins trading for Aqib Talib, the talented but troubled Bucs cornerback.

The chatter seems to have originated with a report in the website Buccaneers 101. I have no idea if reports from there should be considered reliable or not. However, some local chatter indicates that this story may have some legs to it and a pre-draft story in the Pewter Report, a Bucs site that does have a reputation for breaking stories, said that the Bucs made it known that Talib is on the trading block.

That doesn’t mean that a deal, which likely would involve a late-round 2013 draft pick, is imminent or that it’s going to happen at all. But it does mean that it’s worth a post taking a look at a potential deal.

I found this article to be a pretty nice roundup of the newly signed free agents: http://www.sportsmedia101.com/washingtonredskins/2012/05/07/robert-griffin-iii-and-incoming-free-agents-bring-balance-to-the-washington-redskins/

Overall it's a pretty positive outlook because of how well-rounded these guys could make the team.
