I have been lurking fior years so long that my original ID vanished along with a defunct email address but fear not I have been reading every day. I created a new ID do tip my toe in the water and ask how do you feel about the first game of the regular season.

Is it

A) We are rejuvinated and full or morale, let by a star QB we will crush the shattered and coachless Saints and in doing so the whole media world will say "well they were bound to win that one! poor Saints"

or

B) Stung and full of bitterness the coachless Saints tear the nacent Redskins apart and shatter our rose tinted glasses and in doing so the whole media will say "the Saints rise against all the odds to crush Snyder's dream"

This game is already keeping me up at night so I though to pose it to wise chaps. It seems the media hates us and when we win we cannot win!

a win would be great but as long as we see some flashes of promise from RG3 i'll be pleased. there aren't too many teams as good as the Saints so a loss to them won't be the worst thing in the world.

I've got £20 on us to win that game.

I think we'll surprise them and they'll lack a bit of heart. Who wants to play for a guy who's not even your proper coach...? Why go out of your way to impress them..?? Some of their players may well have written this season off sub-conciously and that QB hold-out doesn't help with the money he got. I'm hoping for turmoil.

The Saint's offense is a machine.. I'm curious to see what are defense does.

Colston/Moore/Henderson/Graham/Ingram/Sproles/Thomas.. dag gone Drew has big options.

Being the homer that I am, Skins for the win.. 33-30 in overtime.

Let's not put too much pressure on the guy to win now. Cam Newton may have had the best rookie season of all time. Can't expect that from RG3. Not to mention, he's struggled a bit. Keep in mind, he's supposed to - he's a rookie. Be cautiously optimistic.

I hate it when people say this. No one's putting any pressure on him. Any pressure he feels, he's putting on himself. I think he's going to have an even better season than Cam had, but that's just me. If he's just average, or a total bust even, it certainly won't be because of fan's expectations. I can't change anything about this season by my tempering my expectations. Sheesh

Agreed.. all that pressure he put on himself.

Disagree about better season than Cam only because NFC East defenses are way better than the NFC South defenses.

Well, think the Saints are still a formidable team lead by a stud QB... with or without their HC. They will be playing at home.....which merely adds to their advantage. We did play them tough a couple of seasons ago when we were at home.....if Squeez'em hadn't of missed a simple chip shot FG, we would have beaten them on their SB year.

I think we will give them a game.....but would not shock me for us to be on the losing end of that score.

You're right on that, LPJ. I was kind of hoping the Saints would be so beat down and demoralized from losing their coach, players, etc; As long as they have Brees back there, its going to be a tough first game.

I'll give any player who knocks him out of the game $100!!!!

Just kidding. Smile

I think we win the first game. It looked to me like the saints ran the ball a lot to set up the pass which wasn't the deal the last few years. If we force the Saints to pass by shutting down the run we win.

Totally wrong.. we WANT them to run the ball my friend. You do not WANT Brees to throw the ball, have you bumped your head bro? Laughing

Maybe you didn't see the list of his weapons man, I 100% would rather them run the ball vs throwing. Brees had over 5,000 yards last year throwing the ball.. the brother does that extremely well.

I'd pick us at home against a division rival. I'll Hognosticate us anyway ... duh. I'll take the Saints in my money pool at work. We will likely have trouble keeping up but the Saints are not world beaters on defense.

If we get the ball last we have a chance.
