Well?

Where do we stand on this position?

I saw Danny Smith on the sideline before the last kick holding a blindfold and cigarette.

Gano would have missed the 57 and the last kick, but made the other two.

Painful to watch yesterday. The best you can say about it was that he hit the one (barely) that mattered most.

I still can't say that I was missing Gano.

I ask this again. Why replace a crap kicker with a crap kicker. They both suck. There has GOT to be a human being in this world that can kick better than these two idiots.

We cut such a guy - Rackers. I think he's available.

I'll agree that Cundiff is a bit of a concern but ...

the guy we have made the kick we needed - Gano was not that good - we lose that game with Gano kicking Wink

In the 1984 NFC Championship game against the 49ers , Mark Mosely missed 3 or 4 field goals in a row before finally kicking the game winner to make the score 24 to 21.

Cundiff is no Mark Mosely but it happens sometimes to the best of them.

No, while Gano may have missed the final kick, he would have made at least two of the previous three.

that MIGHT have happened but then there is no way of knowing how many more points the defense would have given up if the other team had been further behind - see the fact is they had the lead and this kicker was given a shoat at winning - Gano did NOT make Mike feel that he could be counted on to do that

Gano has the stronger leg but neither Gano nor Cundiff are great kickers

there are 2 reasons Gano is not here - Mike could never be sure he would make the game winner AND he was not as good as Cundiff

Well, while I don't see Cundiff being replaced after one bad game....he certainly has used up any credits he has with the team.....and if he has another game like that this season....or if he misses a makeable game winner (40 yds or shorter) then I would say his tenure with the Skins will be over.

I just never saw Cundiff as that much better than Gano. If we had wanted the more accurate kicker, then Rackers had them both beat. Obviously there is more to the story within the FO than we have heard....but it would not shock me if Gano were back on this team at some point in the future.

I think Gano's final kick probably would have been blocked. (But it wouldn't have been his fault.)

That goes for both claims equally.

At least that was funny. I'm thinking the blocker of the kick would not have been blocked by a Redskin - probably a reserve linebacker these days - you know - like on the punts this year.

Wonder how Danny Smith is sleeping these days. He got an extension, right?
