Grading the Redskins O
Quote:
Comment: Two games into the 2012 season, the Redskins’ offense has exceeded expectations. The unit leads the league in points scored (34) and ranks fourth in yards per game (416). This, by the way, comes just a year after the unit finished 26th in scoring, averaging a paltry 18 points per week

I posted this stat on the post game thread, but I will post it here since it is more appropriate:

Redskins - 5 times inside the 10 yard line - 5 TDS. Big difference from last year. What a difference a QB makes.

Longest offensive play last year - 51 yards
This year - 88 yrds in the first game and 68 yrds in the second.

Translation: In each of two games, plays longer than our longest play from last year.

Am I the only one that wants to see (barring big hits of course) RGiii break that stat with a run??
Finally got to see him air it out last game I loved it... Except Hanktime almost dropped and Robinson did. I want to go on record- we will see one of those to my lil man BB soon, sooner then later Im predicting!

record after 2 games last year: 2-0
record after 2 games this year: 1-1

what's the point. who cares about stats. wins and losses are what matters.

The pistol formation works fine. We just lost! LOL So everything looks worse. Had we not played matador on Special Teams and won the game by 20 like we should have, all would be well in Skins land.

If anything, Jim Haslett needs to tweak what he's doing. As does Danny Smith. The offense is doing their job--as odd as that sounds--SMH.

We can't seem to put it all together. If we could pair the Redskins 2005-2009 Defense and ST with today's offense, we'd be winning every week. Our defense has given up 30 points way too often over the last 2 seasons.

Funny ,,, I was just thinking we need the pistol formation on defense, to replace the pea shooter formation that isn't working out so well. Wink

It seems to me that Morris cannot run up the middle, his real gains are when he bounces things to the outside. If i can see a pattern then defensive coaches can see a pattern.

let's see how things go this week

there's way too much effort being put into loooking at these last 2 games that were so completely different

we are an 8 to 10 win team and are still looking like being able to do that

we also are showing signs of having a decent product on the field each week

I'm looking forward to the players and coordinators having a better outing against the Bengals

Let's hope the home crowd knows enough to be quiet while RGIII is on the field. Wink

This is true. He does well when. Turning the corner but soon might get caught up. If his production to the outside slows I expect to see Royster up the gut. Helu is also like morris w more speed but He lacks morris' vision and motor

^^ Umm, yeah, 10 wins.

Pistol seems to work. Alfred seems to run to daylight wherever that happens to be.
