I don't like that he said, "we are prepared for the worst." I think Kirk can manage the game just fine, worst would be Grossman out there flinging the ball to Joe Haden 2 or 3 times.
We still have an amazing running back that we can lean on. |

I just think that is the mindset MS is forcing the players to hold. MS wants them to know that if KC starts, they will need to vastly step up their game.
I don't see it as a slip up, but it could have very well been or it could have been an attempt at mis-deception. We won't know until Sunday.
But I am POSITIVE MS told his players to treat anbd prepare this week as if KC is starting on Sunday. Because either way, its a win for MS: either KC starts and the players prepared that way OR RGIII starts and they worked that much harder during the week. |

I don't think he meant the worst being Kirk. I think he meant the worst meaning RGIII's injury taking longer to heal.
That comment stood out to me also, but when you re-listen, it's clear that he's talking in terms of preparing for RGIII not being there. |

I think it's clear that Kirk will take all of the 1st team reps this week. Because the method of treatment for an LCL Sprain is PRICE
Protect
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation
The P is for protect the injury. Not for practice. So, I think this comes down to how RGIII looks in a pre-game workout.
My plan would be to keep him active, and have him there even if Kirk is going to play.
Keep the Browns guessing. |

| It sounds like RG3 to me - Mike Shanahan is almost as bad with his lying and manipulating as his buddy & friend Bill Belicheat |

| It's hard to discern his intention, without listening to it. That sentence can just be a hypothetical situation that he's speaking of. |

Yeah I think the media is making a lot more out of Garcon's statement than there is.
I have one question though. It seems doubtful that RGIII would be able to practice the next couple days. If your QB is a vet like Ben Roethlisberger or something, you sometimes see teams hold a guy out most of the week and still play him on Sunday. Is that a less likely scenario here because we have a rookie QB? |

| I would take this with a grain of salt. I'd be willing to bet the coaches themselves aren't 100% decided what will happen yet. |

What have the coaches said?
I hope this will be a game time decision so the Browns don't know who to prepare for. |

I get that it can be taken one way or the other, I just don't like players coming out and saying things that don't help the team. The ONLY benefit from this injury was that the Browns have to plan for both QBs and be ready to defend 2 separate styles, if players are already coming out and talking about who is playing QB, the advantage is lost.
Again, we have no idea if he meant to say it, made a mistake, or has no idea of who the QB is going to be, just wish he'd plead the 5th on that one. Even the analyst knew he shouldn't have said that.
I honestly don't have a problem with Cousins being the QB this Sunday. RG3's health is much more important than Sunday's game. |

| Can a team really prepare for Cousins, though? It's not like there's tape on him. |
