Adrian Peterson: 293 yards from tying Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards set in 1985 (147 YPG; tough, but AD's a monster).

Megatron: 181 yards from tying Jerry Rice's single-season receiving yards record of 1,848 yards (only 91 YPG? Doable).

J.J. Watt and Aldon Smith both 3 sacks from tying Strahan's 2001 record of 22.5 sacks.

Don't think Peterson makes it. He's got to play some tough Ds in Houston and Green Bay.

True, but man, the dude is NOT human. Maybe not likely, but entirely possible.
Megatron's all but a lock.
The sack record could be interesting.

Peterson faced tougher prospects before this past week. Another monster performance and week 16 will be something doable like 100 yards.

Hard to imagine Johnson not breaking Rice's record. Sad that he's stuck on such a bad team. (I think their recent flirting with success was more luck of the draw than a reflection of actual team strength.)

Would love to see someone, anyone hold the sack record who didn't get there by cheating. Let's have both Smith and Watt break it and put Strahan in 3rd — with an asterisk.

Indeed, poor old Johnson is currently filling the Barry Sanders role. Hopefully, he gets to play on a team worthy of his talent before he's done.

Megatron for Cousins?

Well, that was easy Laughing http://www.foxsportsdetroit.com/12/22/12/Megatron-Three-records-down-one-to-go/landing_lions.html?blockID=839101&feedID=3701

Johnson actually broke two other NFL records Saturday, tied another and set a Detroit club record on his way to catching Rice.

He became the first player in league history with eight straight 100-yard receiving games and the first with at least 10 receptions in four consecutive games.

He tied Michael Irvin for the most 100-yard receiving games in a season with his 11th. Irvin set the record in 1995 with Dallas.

Johnson, meanwhile, entered the game needing only 20 yards to break the team record for receiving yardage in a season, which was held by Herman Moore with 1,686 yards in '95. That was taken care of easily enough in the opening quarter, and Johnson didn’t stop until he had surged past Rice, too.
Now, can he be the next CJ2K? Only 108 yards needed.

Megatron for Cousins?

Would love the Redskins to have a dominant wide receiver like that, but that deal isn't happening. We'll just have to continue to admire Johnson, safe in the knowledge that he's unlikely to ever play on a team good enough to hurt the Redskins in postseason.

OJ went for 2000 in 14 games. Just thought I'd mention it. Did he find the real killer yet? I know he checked every golf course in Florida.

Peterson needs 208 yards to break the record; Watt needs 2.5 sacks; A. Smith plays now at SEA.

I'd like to see someone who doesn't play for the NYG (or Cowpies) hold the record.

He'll be sacking Andrew Luck. Let's hope he breaks the record wide open. Twisted Evil

Brees now has 2 consecutive seasons with 40+passing TDs and 2 consecutive with 5000+ passing yards; 1st time for each. BTW, the 1st player to have 2 (consecutive or not) 5000 AND 40 in the same season.

Stafford sets new record for pass attempts.

Megatron closing in on 2K.

No sacks yet for Watt.
