NFL Rumors - October 21st

Postby PSD » Tue Oct 21, 2003 2:14 pm

Giants could look to Coughlin, Saban or Schottenheimer
Jim Fassel's job appears to be safe for now, but the Giants could decide to replace him during the offseason. If the Giants fire Fassel, New York Daily News columnist Gary Myers thinks that the team could hire either Tom Coughlin, Nick Saban or Marty Schottenheimer.

Raiders may tell Gannon to take a seat
Should the Raiders bench Rich Gannon in favor of Marques Tuiasosopo? Oakland Tribune columnist Art Spander thinks that it may be time for the Raiders to give the ball to Tuiasosopo.

Bears expected to stick with Chandler
Kordell Stewart may have to get used to his seat on the bench. The Chicago Tribune's David Haugh reports that many of the Bears players would be surprised if the team started Stewart against the Lions on Sunday.

Lions may give Harrington the hook
The Detroit Free Press' Curt Sylvester reports that the Lions still haven't decided if Joey Harrington will be their starting quarterback on Sunday. Coach Steve Mariucci says that he will give the job to whoever gives the Lions the best chance to win.

Spurrier not cut out for the NFL
Washington Times columnist Dan Daly writes that the Steve Spurrier experiment isn't working in Washington. Spurrier may have to reinvent his Fun 'n' Gun offense if he wants to succeed in the pros, but Daly wonders whether Spurrier's "heart is in it".

Fassell would be an interesting choice to replace SS. I know he knows how to motivate and light some fires.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I wanna win regardless but I'd rather steer clear of cross division personnel. We need to find our own diamond in the rough out there if SOS wusses out.

p.s. Kordell Stewart = food stamps.

if that's the case then I say we scrap the superstars and start rebuilding from scratch....something DS, nor many fans ever want to do....no enough patience for a say 3 year plan

I think we need a proven leader (like Fassel, if necessary) to whip this primadonas into shape and get the best out of them.

I agree on the Kordell comment, but would have said the same about Carter after week one.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

nah, fassel could take our current talent into next season and have a shot at it all..... if he can stop the fumble madness....his system DOES work in the nfl....very capable of fireworks.
