we were talking about this during the game last night and i wasn't sure... what is the scoring if a team blocks another team's extra point and runs it back for a TD, or intercepts a 2 pt conversion and runs it back?

I'm pretty sure it's a dead ball and can't be returned...either the kick or the interception.

In college I believe it's worth 2 points, in the pro's it's worth none. I'll try and look it up.

Similar question--before the reintroduction of the 2 point conversion, what would happen on a botched extra point attempt that resulted in a touchdown? Dead ball?

Quote:
1. After a touchdown, the scoring team is allowed a try during one scrimmage down. The ball may be spotted anywhere between the inbounds lines, two or more yards from the goal line. The successful conversion counts one point by kick; two points for a successful conversion by touchdown; or one point for a safety.

Can someone explain to me how you get "one point for a safety" on an extra point? Does that mean that you have the option of letting your "defensive" team attempt a safety on a conversion? Why does the NFL have such a strange rule? Has this ever been attempted?

You can do I Fake FG Pass on a Field Goal but not a 2 pt. A 2 Pter is a dead ball if intercepted. A blocked field goal can be ran back for a TD, ala Redskins-Dolphins.

Except on and extra point. I think all extra points = dead ball.
