Rattay gets nod, Garcia annoyed
San Francisco Chronicle: "While acknowledging he won't be ready to play Monday night against Pittsburgh, Jeff Garcia expressed exasperation Wednesday with what he called 'the fickleness of things' as some people called for a change at quarterback for the 49ers."

Gannon is done for the season
Sacramento Bee: "The Raiders ruled Rich Gannon out for the rest of this lost season Wednesday by placing the quarterback on season-ending injured reserved with shoulder damage the team believes requires surgery. In addition, Gannon's future with the Raiders -- if not football, period -- is in serious doubt."

Slot duty wearing on Terrell
Chicago Sun-Times: "No one can speak more about it than Terrell, who addressed his situation earlier in the day at Halas Hall when he suggested he is treated differently by the coaching staff and might need a change of scenery."
